Getting Started With Omnisend

Written by Alex

How Attribuly's Omnisend integration works

Through integration, you can analyze every conversion brought about by Omnisend marketing clicks, even if consumers use different devices. At the same time, with enriched audiences signals, you can recover many more abandoners, thus generating more revenue from email marketing.

Prerequisites

  • You have signed up to Attribuly

  • An Omnisend account

Connecting Attribuly with Omnisend

  1. Go to the Attribuly > Connections > Sources page, click 'Browse All Sources'.

  2. Find the Omnisend card and click 'Connect now'.

  3. Click 'Connect Omnisend Account' to start authorizing your Omnisend account.

If you want to use Attribuly to track Omnisend traffic and conversions, simply set the value of utm_source to 'omnisend' in Omnisend.

Destinations

Best Practice

Attribuly's powerful first-party data can identify unknown or returning visitors for up to 360 days and currently supports five types of server-side events.

  • Active On site

  • Product viewed

  • Collection viewed

  • Added to cart

  • Checkout started

  • Subscribe

Therefore, we can copy the workflows in Omnisend that use these 6 events, resulting in up to 12 automations.

The flows configured by Attribuly will not be sent repeatedly to the existing automations, making it easy for you to analyze the new revenue brought by the new automations.

Prerequisites

The "App Embed" is on. This helps to track any emails from pop-ups and other forms.

You don't need to remove Omnisend pixel tracking.

Step 1: Configure Destinations

Go to the Attribuly > Connections > Destinations page, click 'Add destinations', and select 'Omnisend' to enter the creation process.

Select all events, choose the Omnisend account for data transmission, and then click 'Save Configuration'.

That's it!

Step 2: Set up automations in Omnisend

For example:Abandoned cart flow

Select Abandoned Cart flow and copy

Edit trigger to "Added to Cart, Attribuly SS".

Set up the skip rules in 'Skip contacts who are currently in or have recently completed other automations'. This excludes additional purchases collected by Omnisend pixels.

You don't have to modify the dynamic content of the email content because the event structure of Attribuly SS is the same as that of native events.

Start workflow.

When configuring CTA, select the target URL address as:

abandoned_checkout_url : [[event.raw.abandoned_checkout_url]]

If you want to include the cart items in the email content, you need to use Dynamic Content.

Select Line items

Use below dynamic fields:

Product Name : [[item.product_title]]

Product Image : [[item.image]]

Product price : [[item._price]]

Product compare price: [[item.compare_at_price]]

Product url : [[item.product.product_url]]

Best practice:

To avoid duplicate sending, add a wait time of more than 10 minutes so that Omnisend has more time to calculate the exclusion conditions.

Step 3: Set up Capture

To enable Capture to collect anonymous visitor emails and trigger Omnisend automation, just enable Capture in settings. Then monitor the results on the home page.
