About channel group

In Attribuly, a channel group is a way to categorize and group different marketing channels or sources of traffic to your website.

For example, common channel groups might include organic search, paid search, social media, direct traffic, referral traffic, and email marketing.

The purpose of channel groups is to provide a more organized and consolidated view of your website's traffic sources. It helps you understand which channels are driving the most traffic, conversions, and engagement.

Let's say you have a website selling fitness products. You might group traffic coming from Google Search as organic search, traffic from Facebook ads as paid social media, and traffic from other fitness blogs linking to your site as referral traffic. By grouping these channels, you can easily compare their performance and make informed decisions about your marketing strategies.

This feature allows you to analyze the effectiveness of different marketing efforts and allocate resources accordingly to optimize your website's performance and user acquisition.

Custom channels

Attribuly supports custom channels on top of the default group. Create a new channel based on source/medium/campaign.

For example, you run both Impact and UpPromote affiliate programs. The default channel group mixes them into an affiliate channel. You may want to create 2 custom channels "Impact" and "UpPromote" to distinguish both channel performances.
