About Checkout Extensibility

Checkout Extensibility provides a comprehensive set of platform capabilities to streamline the customization of your checkout experience. It allows you to customize your checkout in an app-driven and upgrade-resilient manner, ensuring optimal performance and seamless integration with Shop Pay.

Through Checkout Extensibility, you can implement customizations effortlessly using no-code apps, branding tools, and a wide range of components and APIs, enabling you to craft unique checkout experiences tailored to your brand and customer needs without extensive coding knowledge.

Merchants currently using checkout.liquid must transition to Checkout Extensibility before the deprecation date of August 13, 2024 to ensure continuity and avoid disruption. Additionally, script tags and additional scripts used for the Thank you and Order status pages will become obsolete and be deprecated starting August 28, 2025.

Track Checkout, Thank you, and Order Status page.

If you have Attribuly installed, you may find it in "Checkout-Customization report-Installed apps". This means that Attribuly is tracking the pages. You don't have to insert any additional code manually.

GA4 migration

GA4 can't track the above pages. To do so, the Attribuly & GA4 integration is a good option. Attribuly posts back these events to GA4 via server-side.
